Meet The Heather

About PLACED Chicago

Hi, I'm Heather.

Heather’s path here wasn’t a straight line — and that’s part of what makes her so good at it. She started out as a kindergarten teacher, then stepped away from work to raise her family. It didn’t take long before she got restless and started a children’s clothing line, Milly and Tate. From there she moved into real estate, where she kept seeing the same pattern: people facing a move with no idea where to start, because most of us only move a handful of times in our lives and nobody gets good at it through practice. That’s when she finally found her passion, and Placed Chicago was born.

Heather’s eye for space and design didn’t start in real estate, though — it started in childhood. As the daughter of an interior designer and an architect, she spent much of her early years at the Merchandise Mart or coloring on blueprints instead of coloring books. That upbringing gave her an instinct for how storage, flow, and design work together that most people only develop after years in the field.

At home, Heather married her high school sweetheart, and the two have been married for 27 years. They have three college-age children — Hayden, Isabelle, and Brenden — who kept her plenty busy along the way. Between work, dance competitions, volleyball tournaments, and hockey games, being organized wasn’t optional; it was the only way any of it got done. She was a dance mom for years, and she’s still very much a volleyball mom and hockey mom, now cheering on her kids at the college level.

That same drive for order, precision, and making things work under pressure is what she brings to every Placed Chicago project — because for Heather, this isn’t just a business. It’s the thing she’s been building toward her whole life.

Meet The Team

PLACED Chicago brings together designers, stylists, organizers, and problem solvers who share a hands-on approach and an eye for detail. Each team member brings her own strengths to helping you create a home that feels organized, comfortable, and yours.

We also coordinate with a trusted network of movers, estate sale professionals, donation partners, and junk removal teams, giving you one point of contact throughout your move.

Lauren B

Lauren earned her Bachelor of Science in Integrated Strategic Communication from the University of Kentucky, and she brings that same curiosity about people and how they communicate to her work with PLACED Chicago — a team she genuinely loves being part of. Outside of work, Lauren is happiest with a coffee in hand, at a concert, deep in a good book, or out on a hiking trail. She has a cat, and hopes to become an author someday.

Kathy

Kathy is PLACED Chicago's Interior Design Specialist. She has a natural eye for a room's potential and helps clients make smart decisions about space planning, furniture placement, styling, and how to best use what they already own. As a mom of four grown children, she knows homes have to function in real life, not just look beautiful — and she's especially good at creating spaces that feel warm and intentional. When not working, you'll find her on the padel or pickleball court.

Janett

Janett is PLACED Chicago's in-house stylist. She's an exceptional organizer in her own right, but her real gift is styling — she can pull together a bookcase that looks like it belongs in a magazine, and she does it using the pieces you already own, so your home ends up looking like the best version of itself. When she's not working with PLACED, you'll find Janett at Style Shack in downtown Highland Park or spending time with her family.

Lauren S

Lauren spent years as a family lawyer, helping people navigate some of the hardest transitions in their lives. She traded the courtroom for closets and moving boxes because she found the same thing mattered in both: people do better when someone is truly in their corner. Now she brings that same calm, steady presence to Placed Chicago, helping clients find order and ease during their own transitions — and believes a truly functional home can lift every other part of your life. Outside of work, Lauren loves spending time with her three children and their Bernese Mountain Dog, Bernie.

Amy

Amy earned her BA in Communications from Indiana University and her Master's in Elementary Education from DePaul, and spent her career in teaching, tutoring, and curriculum development — helping students and families create structure, simplify information, and build systems that make everyday life more manageable. She brings that same approach to every home: organized spaces and routines that feel functional, comfortable, and sustainable. Outside of work, Amy loves reading, "light" gardening, canasta, and cheering on her favorite teams. Most of all, she loves spending time with (and organizing life for) her husband, four kids, and four dogs.

Gabrielle

Gabrielle recently graduated from the University of Iowa with a degree in Public Health, and organization has always come naturally to her — she has a sharp eye for detail and finds real satisfaction in creating order out of chaos. She brings that same precision and care to every space she works on at Placed Chicago, and loves helping clients feel lighter the moment a project is done. Outside of work, she loves spending time with friends.
